Advent Prayer

"When the Church celebrates the liturgy of Advent each year, she makes present this ancient expectancy of the Messiah, for by sharing in the long preparation for the Saviour’s first coming, the faithful renew their ardent desire for his second coming."

Lord Jesus,
Master of both the light and the darkness,
send your Holy Spirit upon our preparations for Christmas.

We who have so much to do seek quiet spaces to hear your voice each day.
We who are anxious over many things look forward to your coming among us.
We who are blessed in so many ways long for the complete joy of your kingdom.
We whose hearts are heavy seek the joy of your presence.
We are your people, walking in darkness, yet seeking the light.

To you we say, "Come Lord Jesus!"

Amen.

  2. Hello everyone! May I re-introduce myself, I am youhavenewmail (formerly Right Anglican) at https://retalk.com/c/cranmer-symposium, and on Cranmer’s blog I was TropicalAnglican – if this doesn’t ring a bell, never mind, I wasn’t exactly one of the heavyweight posters with 1000s of comments!
@Happy Jack: Thanks again for your instructions, the most critical piece of info was skip “create a blog”. Could I confirm, posts can’t be edited after publishing, and Blogger does not have the voting facility of Disqus?
[Looking round] Is attendance being taken? I know I am quite late in joining the party, but hope I am not the last one …

  3. Welcome, Right Angle.

Correct - posts can't be edited. They can be deleted and reposted if a serious error is made. And there is no 'like' facility.

Attendance is not huge here- but time will tell if it grows.
